The blonde vs. the kitchen: Apple Crumble Pie

Someone told me a few days ago "I don't understand how can you bake when
you get bored...". Well here is how... :)
I'm a big fan of (any king of) apple pie and yesterday I have decided to try a new recipe.  I've had something similar at Andra's and I was in love ( yes, Andra cooks when she is bored too :P).
So here is my delicious Apple Crumble Pie

Let's see what you need:

The Crust:
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter,room temperature
  • 2-4 tablespoons ice water
The Filling:
  • 5 small apple
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
The Crumble:
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter, room temperature
How you make it:
  1. Preheat the oven
  2. In a large bowl combine flour, salt, sugar and cubed cold butter with your fingertips until crumbly (if too crumbly add some of the ice water)
  3. Knead dough only a few times to turn it into a ball
  4. On a floured surface roll out the dough big enough to fit the pie form
  5. Transfer into pie form and bake for 10 minutes
  6. Meanwhile in another large bowl combine all crumble ingredients with your fingertips until crumbly (will be very buttery)
  7. Peel and core the apples, cut them into nice fine slices and put them into pre-baked crust and top with a bit of cinnamon
  8. Scatter the top of the apples generously with the crumble
  9. Bake for another 30-35 minutes.
Bon appetite! ^_^
