Someone told me a few days ago "I don't understand how can you bake when
you get bored...". Well here is how... :)
I'm a big fan of (any king of) apple pie and yesterday I have decided to try a new recipe. I've had something similar at Andra's and I was in love ( yes, Andra cooks when she is bored too :P).
So here is my delicious Apple Crumble Pie
Let's see what you need:

I'm a big fan of (any king of) apple pie and yesterday I have decided to try a new recipe. I've had something similar at Andra's and I was in love ( yes, Andra cooks when she is bored too :P).
So here is my delicious Apple Crumble Pie
Let's see what you need:
The Crust:
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ cup butter,room temperature
- 2-4 tablespoons ice water
The Filling:
- 5 small apple
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
The Crumble:
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup old-fashioned oats
- 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup butter, room temperature
- Preheat the oven
- In a large bowl combine flour, salt, sugar and cubed cold butter with your fingertips until crumbly (if too crumbly add some of the ice water)
- Knead dough only a few times to turn it into a ball
- On a floured surface roll out the dough big enough to fit the pie form
- Transfer into pie form and bake for 10 minutes
- Meanwhile in another large bowl combine all crumble ingredients with your fingertips until crumbly (will be very buttery)
- Peel and core the apples, cut them into nice fine slices and put them into pre-baked crust and top with a bit of cinnamon
- Scatter the top of the apples generously with the crumble
- Bake for another 30-35 minutes.
Bon appetite! ^_^
